FAST X: Fast and Furious 10
During the production of Universal’s latest Fast and Furious film, Fast X, Audiolink supplied a range of communication solutions on set and on location in the UK, Italy, Portugal and Spain, including:
Motorola Solutions WAVE PTX™:
This simple broadband Push-to-Talk (PTT) service was used so teams could connect efficiently and quickly during the filming of high-speed, long-range driving scenes in Portugal. Users either had the WAVE PTX mobile app downloaded to their phones, or to other iOS or Android devices, or used Motorola Solutions WAVE TLK 100 radios over 4G and could make private, group or emergency calls – all at the push of a button.
Motorola Solutions MOTOTRBO™ systems:
Audiolink deployed various temporary digital and analogue repeater systems on location across mainland Europe and, when on set, users communicated over the established Audiolink MOTOTRBO system installed at the Warner Bros Leavesden studio in Hertfordshire. A range of radio devices were utilised, from Motorola Solutions GP340 analogue radios to MOTOTRBO DP4400e and DP4600e digital radios.
Smart phones and data devices:
Beyond radio solutions, Audiolink also supplies rental dongles and smartphones with country-specific SIM cards, to ensure continued reliable and cost-effective mobile communications too.
Accessories:
As well as its extensive pool of radios, infrastructure and mobile phones and devices, Audiolink has a wide range of accessories available so film crews can select those that help them work more effectively – from spare batteries and chargers, to a wide selection of earpieces.
Having already supplied solutions to other films in the Fast and Furious franchise, Audiolink once again came up trumps with the right communications solutions to fit different roles, with different requirements, in different locations. Reliable and flexible communications boost operational efficiency and effective coordination between the film crews, so they can work more safely, quickly and productively. This, ultimately, helps to contribute towards a timely cry of ‘And that’s a wrap!’
