Do you have your ATEX-certified radios, to comply with the new Safety At Sea Regulations?
From July 2018 all ships in British waters will be required to equip themselves with the relevant number of ATEX two-way radios.
Under the new SOLAS Regulation II-2/10, The Maritime Safety Committee has decreed that, in order to comply with new fire safety regulations, all ships – including cruise ships and private super yachts – need to have a specified number of firefighters relative to the number of crew and size of the ship.
And each party of firefighters on board must have at least two ATEX-certified radios for communications during an emergency.
